New X-Men Movie: Apocalypse

New X-Men Movie, Apocalypse!!!

Apocalypse, the newest installment to the X-Men series has been set to release in 2016. Apocalypse will be the third film in the superhero series featuring Wolverine. Hugh Jackman who has played Wolverine in all seven X-Men movies has second thoughts in whether he wants to continue playing the character, speaking with Vanity Fair, Jackman said:

“I don’t know whether or not I will do this next movie. I am really proud of this movie and I am excited to develop something with Jim Mangold from the beginning because that is a great ride. That’s exciting, to see what we come up with but I have a very high expectation of what it would need to be [for me to star in it] and if it doesn’t reach those, I won’t be doing it.”

Even though Jackman may have some doubt about continuing to play Wolverine, it appears that 20th Century Fox is steadfast at creating more superhero movies. Fox signed screenwriter Simon Kinberg to a three-year deal allowing him to work on expanding the X-Men and Fantastic Fourfranchise. Kinberg wants to expand the franchises into full-blown universes, eventually meshing story lines to become similar to Marvel’s model of interlocking movies.
